Our team is ready to formulate, develop, and translate your recipe or idea into mass production. We are ready to provide technical consultancy, assist with FDA regulations, provide packaging and nutritional labels and more.

Product Development

PRIOR TO DISCUSSING THE SPECIFICS OF YOUR PRODUCT WE RECOMMEND A CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT TO BE INSTITUTED BETWEEN THE PARTIES INVOLVED.

We request a sample of your product as it is currently made. It is tested in our lab to ensure it meets FDA requirements. This also provides a benchmark for comparison as we create samples based on your recipe (formula). Submitted products are tested for pH, percent acid and soluble sugars (Brix).

A lab sample is then created and sent to you for your approval. Upon sample approval, packaging is selected, and a price quote will be given. This approved sample will provide the information for us to create the ingredient list, allergen statement, and nutrition panel required for the product label.

We do not provide labels, but will supply all pertinent information for the graphics person of your choice to use. Labels should be designed according to the F. D. A. Labeling Guide.

Each time the product is processed in our facility, the batch is tested to ensure compliance with the stipulated specifications. These findings are documented and a retain sample is kept for reference.

FDA Regulations

We are an FDA registered facility, inspected by the FDA and Florida Department of Agriculture.

Fees

For our laboratory work and samples we charge $350/product for sauces and beverages. For dry spice rubs the fee is $250/product. For product duplications for which no recipe is provided, the fee is $500/product.

This includes panel/ingredient list, other label information needed and filing with the FDA. If challenge studies or other specific tests are required beyond our scope, we will refer you to an independent laboratory. They will charge their own fees for which you will be directly responsible.

Production Costs

These charges are based on each specific product’s ingredients, packaging and procedure. When an order is placed, we require 50% in advance, with the remainder due upon completion. Minimum production quantity is 21 gallons for sauces and beverages and 5 lbs for dry spice rubs. This represents a pilot or marketing batch, allowing you to focus more of your money on marketing your product, rather than in an excessive amount of product on hand. WE WANT YOU TO BE SUCCESSFUL!

These are the customary containers used. Other packaging options are available and sourced upon request. We will provide label sizes once packaging is determined.

 

Shipping

We will ship via the lowest cost LTL carrier, FOB Ocala, FL. Within the state of Florida, this is usually R&L Carriers. Freight charges are billed separately on your invoice in addition to your product cost. You are also welcome to pick up your order in person.
